Translation Mode

Pick if the translation of the page will be automatic or - coming soon - allow your users to select the language

Written by Chiara

Geo Translate offers two translation modes. Select the mode that best fits how you want visitors to experience your translated content.

Automatically translate page based on visitor location

The page is translated automatically when a visitor's geolocation matches a configured language variant. No action is required from the visitor — they see the translated content immediately on load.

Allow users to select language using language selector element

A floating language-switcher dropdown is automatically injected into your page, letting visitors choose their preferred language. No extra HTML is needed. When this mode is active, two additional settings appear:

  • Switcher position — place the language switcher at the bottom left or bottom right corner of the page.

  • First display — choose whether visitors first see the original content or the translated content when they land on the page.

Once the auto-translation is done, you can adjust the translation manually to fine tune the result.
